About 7 - 8 weeks ago she turned in bed'and felt severe pain down her right \narm and numbness in her index finger and thumb. She reports that it is improving but for three weeks \n- the pain in her arm was horrendous but this has not settled. She still experiences some pain but her \nmain persisting symptom is numbness in her index finger and thumb. More recently she has had some \nnumbness in the littie finger of her left hand. \n) She has a background of diabetes, asthma, angina and arthritis. Her arthritis affects her neck, back, hips \nand shoulders. She has a background pain in her shoulder that is longstanding and she is aware that it \nhas been a long time since she has been able to fully elevate her arms. \nShe has longstanding problems with swallowing and has not noticed any change in this. More recently \nshe has had increased urinary frequency and again this is longstanding but has been slightly worse of \nlate. \nShe reports that due to the numbness there is a lack of dextenty within her hand. She does not report \nany tripping or stumbling but she can experience back pain and her mobility is generally poor. She \nreports\u2019to being dizzy but again this is longstanding. \nAssessment of her cervical spine showed both flexion and extension to produce dizziness. She had a \nrelatively well preserved range of rotation but both rotations-produced neck pain as did right and left side \n\ufb02exnon
