She stands with a hallux valgus deformity, \nthe hind foot is'well aligned, and pedal pulses are present today. She does have a \nneighbouring second PIP joint which is a little bit hammer in position. We talked through \nthe processes with regards to correcting the toe. | have advised her there is-an element of \narthritis in the joint itself and if it is sufficient she would be looking towards fusion similar to \nthe right side, however in the same respects, if there is not so much arthritis present then \nshe may get away with a corrective osteotomy which would help maintain some movement \nto the joint. \nShe'is happy to go ahead with what would be in her best interest. She is aware of the \ngeneral risks, benefits and post-op recovery expectations involved with such a procedure \nand she is keen to pursue. She will pass through the pre-assessment clinic to determine \nher suitability for surgery, however in the meantime has been listed directly for left foot 1st \nMTP joint fusion + 2nd PIP joint fusion
