Unfortunately, we have been unable to locate any information within scope of your request.  

I regret that I am unable to supply you with the information you requested as The City of Edinburgh Council does not hold this information. Extensive searches were carried out by our Children & Families department as well as our by our SCAI team, however they were unable to locate any of the records that you have requested.

Searches were carried out using the information provided. Unfortunately, no records were located. Bellshill Children's Home was in Bellshill, Lanarkshire which originally came under Strathclyde Regional Council but has since been abolished and divided up between different council areas. I wasn't sure if 'St John's in the request was St Johns Bosco's in Aberdour, Fife run by The Salesian Fathers of St John Bosco. If so, I recommend that you contact them for any records they may hold for Mr Japp at: secretary@salesians.org.uk
